The Genesis Intensive Outpatient Program (lOP) is a level of care that offers a high level of structure and accountability. It is designed for those patients are still functioning at their job, and who have a good support system at home.
Placement into the Intensive Outpatient Program is based on clinical assessment by a member of the Genesis counseling staff. An individualized treatment plan is developed for each patient and length of stay is determined by the accomplishment of objectives agreed upon by the patient and staff.
The lOP program meets four (4) sessions weekly for three (3) hours each session. There are both morning and evening groups to allow for the varied work schedules of our patients. A full course of treatment lasts twelve (12) weeks. The length of the Genesis program is significant because it reflects our belief that the kind of major changes we ask of our patients take time.

The Aftercare Program is designed to assist patients in early recovery by maximizing the benefits gained during the initial intensive phase of treatment. Aftercare groups provide support and assistance with problem solving which serves as a bridge from the primary treatment setting to a stronger relationship with the individual’s 12-Step program of recovery.
Patients who have completed the initial phase of treatment return once per week for 1 year following discharge. Each meeting shall last approximately 1-1/2 hours in length. Feedback between participants, developing problem solving skills, and identification of early relapse warning signs are emphasized throughout Aftercare.
The Genesis Aftercare group is also the foundation of the Alumni Association, which sponsors social activities for Genesis Program graduates throughout the year.

The “Transitions” track is an education and counseling program designed to broaden the foundation of recovery established in primary treatment and aid in the transition from the shelter of a residential program to living clean and sober in the real world. This is done through participation in our Intensive Outpatient Program at a flexible and tapering schedule over six weeks.
The goals of “Transitions” are the development of a personalized relapse-prevention plan, involvement of personal therapist and 12-Step sponsor, development of a Recovery Support Network and introduction to our Aftercare group.
